How long does it take for credit to be available after a payment?
Generally, payments made by 5:59 PM ET are applied to your account by the next business day. However, it can sometimes take up to 7 calendar days for your payment to be fully processed and for the updated available credit to show on your account.
We understand it can be inconvenient when your payment posts but your available credit doesn't immediately update. Here's why it's happening:
When you make a payment, we first post it to your account, which lowers your balance. Next, your payment needs to clear your bank. This clearing process verifies that funds are available, preventing your account from going over its limit if a payment is unsuccessful.
It typically takes 7 calendar days from your payment's posted date for the funds to clear. On the evening of the 7th day, the payment will clear overnight, and you'll see your available credit updated on your dashboard and mobile app early the following morning.
