Cryptocurrency is a type of digital currency that exists solely in electronic form and operates independently of a central bank or government authority. Examples include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and many others, each with its own unique features and uses within the digital economy.
Can I Use My Card for Cryptocurrency?
You can use your card for cryptocurrency transactions, but we can’t guarantee that they’ll be successful.
Cryptocurrency transactions are processed as a cash advance, not a regular purchase. This applies to all cash equivalent transactions, including cryptocurrency, cash apps, and lottery tickets.
Here are a few things to know about cash advance transactions:
- We charge either a minimum 3% of the cash advance amount or $5, whichever is higher.
- We begin charging interest on cash advances on the same day as the transaction.
- We’re unable to waive any fees associated with cryptocurrency or other cash advance transactions, even if the transaction fails.
- Limits: The customer can use a maximum of 25% of their total credit limit for a cash advance. This is outlined in the customer’s Cash Advance Limit.
- We cannot guarantee the customer’s cash advance balance will be paid down unless they pay their entire balance off.
